- Bible Study - Below are a few of my
favorite FREE Bible study sources:
-
e-Sword is
a fast and effective way to study the Bible. e-Sword is
feature rich and user friendly with more capabilities than you would
expect in a free software package. The fact that e-Sword is free is
just one of the blessings and does not speak of the quality of the
software.
-
Firefighters for Christ has many Bible commentaries and sermons
in MP3 format for download. They have a searchable on-line
Bible and MP3 Bible. They also have a large list of audio
cassette's of sermons and commentaries that they will send to you
for FREE (no charge even for shipping)! Of
course this ministry is dependant on contributions to be able to
provide these tapes at no cost.
- DVD Video - I record some TV
programs on ReplayTV boxes, and author DVD's. These sites
are good sources of "How To" info on video and audio.
- VideoHelp
- This site will help you to make your own
VideoCDs,
SVCD's or
DVDs that can be played on your
standalone DVD Player from video sources like DVD, Video, TV, DV,
Cam or downloaded movie clips like DivX, MOV, RM, WMV and ASF. They
also have extensive lists of
Capture Cards,
DVD Media, computer
DVD Writers, desktop
DVD Recorders and desktop
DVD Players with features,
compatibility information and user comments.
- DVD Guides
- source for DVD related guides and info. Help with DVD
copying, ripping, authoring and burning! In this site you can
find many easy-to-follow guides that will lead you to many
successful copies!
- DVDR & CDR Media
- I get most of my media from
Rima.com
- MP3 Audio - I listen to Bible
commentaries and sermons on my
IPOD.
I get most of my content from several web sites including these:
-
Firefighters for Christ - has many Bible
commentaries and sermons in MP3 format for download.
- I-Tunes
- I use this program to organize the MP3 content for my IPOD and
also to purchase music.
- Central
Church of God Sermon MP3's - I get the CD's of sermons
from my church and rip them to MP3 which I then publish to this site
& load to my IPOD..
-
Genealogy - When my dad died in 1995, I realized
how little I knew about my ancestry. I spent the next several
years researching my family tree. Check it out!
- Podcasts - Created by former
MTV VJ
Adam Curry, is a term that was devised as a crisp way to
describe the technology used to push audio content from
websites down to consumers of that content, who typically listen
to it on their
iPod (hence the "pod") or other audio player that supports mp3
at their convenience. The term podcasting is meant to rhyme with
broadcasting and is a derivative of the
iPod platform. While not directly associated with
Apple's iPod device or
iTunes music service, the company did contribute both the desire
and the technology for this capability. Podcasting is not unlike
time-shifted video software and devices like
TiVo, which let you watch what you want when you want by
recording and storing video, except that podcasting is used for
audio and is currently free of charge. Note, however, that this
technology can be used to push any kind of file, including software
updates, pictures, and videos.
Podcasting uses an
XML-based technology called
RSS, or Really Simple Syndication. Content publishers describe
new content in an
XML RSS file which includes dates, titles, descriptions, and
links to
MP3 files. This auto-generated file is called an RSS feed. The
key to making podcasting work with RSS is enclosures, a feature
supported by
RSS 2.0.
What makes podcasting special is that it
allows individuals to publish (podcast) radio shows, that interested
listeners can subscribe to. Before podcasting you could of course
record a radio show and put it on your website, but now people can
automatically receive new shows, without having to go to a specific
site and download it from there.

The great discovery is that the
Bible is a message system: it's not simply 66 books penned by 40 authors
over thousands of years, the Bible is an integrated whole which bears
evidence of supernatural engineering in every detail!
66/40 is a daily podcast/radio broadcast for in depth Bible
study. Chuck Missler has been teaching from the Bible
for over 30 years. |

Kevin and George provide useful info for Systems
Administrators. Their accounts for real-life experiences are
so similar to my experiences as a Sys Admin for the last 10
years that, most of the time, I just sit there nodding my
head in understanding of the situation, or dilemma as the
case is sometimes. I've use several of the tools that have
been highlighted on this podcast. As important as the
content of the show, these guys know how to make their
topics interesting to those of all levels of experience. If
you are a SysAdmin, I highly recommend that you check this
out. |
